For fifteen years, rumors have spread through the halls of the Charles F. Prevedal Federal Office Building in St. Louis MO. The source? A strange smell that only made itself known when the weather was cool. Could it be ghosts? An adjacent apartment building? A staff member without deodorant? Nobody could figure it out. This is, until two members of our LB&B team, James Willis and Andrew Snipes, debunked the mystery. It was a defective, cracked, sanitary drain between the second and third floors of the building, above a women’s restroom.
Our team was quick to fix the defective pipe and had a new one in place within hours. The smell immediately disappeared, along with it’s haunted roomers. After passing all tests and inspections, we covered the section with new drywall and paint, removing all traces of the problem. For good measure, we followed up frequently to check in on the tenants. After several visits, they confirmed that the smell had been vanquished for good. We couldn’t be prouder of our project team.
